Canton 45 Salmon River 25
The Canton girls JV Basketball team took their last road trip of the season to Salmon River on Tuesday night to tip it up with the improved Shamrocks. The Bear Cubs outscored the Rocks 45-25 to win the very physical contest.
Ashley Aldous led all scorers with fourteen points followed by Zayda Gaurin with ten points and seven rebounds and Elle White who had nine and nine rebounds. Also scoring in the game were Elise Harris (four points), Addison Robert Bogart (2 points), Emma Bradish Hayes and Kaitlyn Holmes (1 point).
“I really like how we played defense tonight. We did a much better job getting down the floor. It was also nice to see so many girls contribute to the win,” said Coach Mike Wentworth. “With sophomores Jenna Larrabee and Keegan Larsen moving up to the varsity team for a play off run and Elle White playing limited minutes because of an ankle injury we will have a much smaller bench so everyone is going to have to step it up and play at a higher level in our last game against Malone on Thursday.”
